Why is ICT important?
Contemporary research has shown that ICT can lead to improved student learning and better teaching methods. A report made by the National Institute of Multimedia Education in Japan, acknowledged that an increase in student exposure to educational ICT through curriculum integration has a significant and positive impact on student achievement, especially in terms of “Knowledge・Comprehension” · “Practical skill” and “Presentation skill” in subject areas such as mathematics, science, and social studies. We have had a fun Term with our Inquiry Learning unit ‘Now’ and ‘Then’ where the children learnt about varying aspects of life in their grandparents or great grandparent’s time and comparing it to life today. The Unit culminated on Monday with ‘Grandparents or Special Person’s Day’ where many of the children’s Grandparents came to watch the children participate in Games of the past. Some of the grandparents even had a go! It brought back happy memories.
